In addition to film, Tulsa United promotes entertainers, artists, musicians, photographers, and critics. Tulsa United is a film festival for everyone, a place where art and community converge.

A Tulsa native filmmaker, Jason Connell and his production company Connell Creations founded Tulsa United and recently completed their first feature film
"Strictly Background" (www.strictlybackground.com) . This heartfelt and compelling award-winning documentary is based on the trials of 10 movie extras trying to make it big in Hollywood. Its highly-anticipated Tulsa premiere will take place on opening night of Tulsa United and will kick things off in style! Tulsa United has another Tulsa premiere lined up - the critically acclaimed documentary,  "Strong Enough To Break" (www.strongenoughtobreak.com) , which will screen on closing night. This film documents the struggles and tension that drove Tulsa's very own, Hanson, to leave their major label record company and take a huge risk by starting their own label.

Upon moving to L.A., Connell created Los Angeles United Film Festival - April '07 - and launched New York United Film Festival - December '07 in NYC. The rich tradition of screening humorous, touching and sometimes provocative films is reaching even more people than ever. Tulsa United is one film festival you won't want to miss!
